FAQ
Below are solutions to some of our most asked questions. If there is something you can't find or still don't understand, contact us and we'll be happy to help you.
How can I supply my images?
We can accept most formats of images. The best image format is a jpeg. We can scan in and use any physical photos you have, but the quality depends on the origonal size of the image.
How long will it take?
We produce everything on site at our Bath branch. Place your order at the Bath branch before 10am on selected days and the canvas will be ready for you to collect at the end of the day. Otherwise we would normally suggest between 1-2 working days production plus delivery.
How is the canvas prepared?
We stretch and staple the canvas with specific tools and include wedges into the corners to tap out. View the video here of how me make our canvases. The canvas will be streched for you and wrapped in bubblewrap.
What quality image should I supply?
We would normally suggest a minimum 300dpi image, set to size. However the canvas texture compensates for a slightly lower resolution, in which case a 200dpi minimum image is acceptable. The upload tool will tell you what your image dpi is for the size of the canvas you need.
What canvas material do you use?
We only use 100% Cotton canvas at 350gsm. Not fake canvas polyester plastic fabric found on many "cheap" canvas websites and stores.
What frames do you use?
We stretch our canvases over quality, kiln set professional stretcher bars. They come in two thicknesses: 19mm (thin) canvas frames or 38mm (thick) canvas frames.
What inks do you use?
We print using HP Vivera quality inks, guaranteed for over 75 years colour fastness. the inks enhance your image, making your photos really stand out!
Where is a good place to put up my canvas?
The materials used are only suitable for internal use. To extend the life of the canvas, keep out of direct sunlight.
